[Opera] Opera Weekly Builds Part 2

»my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/20···21-build

I know you all are awaiting 9.50 to play with, but in the meanwhile we will have a update on Merlin.
We have kept the fix rate at a minimal here so the few fixes we have here are the high pri ones

Changelog
Setting font style in the UI now works again
Larger search field in speed dial, looked a bit chunky on smaller resolutions
Added Yahoo Answers to built in search
A number of crashes fixed and memory leaks plugged
Proxy PAC files now read from system on Windows and Mac
Windows media player 11 NP version now works without crashing. Get it here »port25.technet.com/pages/windows···oad.aspx

---

What exactly is Windows Media player 11 NP and when would I need that?

Just a question, the Windows downloads are listed as "MSI" and "Classic". What's the difference?

CORRECTION

This just so everyone is aware, this is NOT opera 9.21. This is simply a weekly build of it. Lex please repost this in the weekly build thread, that way people aren't confused and treat it as a final.

It should be reposted here: »Opera Weekly Builds Thread

How about we start a new weekly builds thread & ask Lex if he'll edit his topic title?

The other thread started in March of 2006

..and it's kinda long, too - at 3 pages

That'll work too I guess. Just wanna make sure people don't get confused and think that this is a final.

Damn it.. I thought it was a beta or a weekly because that's what I heard and then I saw this thread title and thought "whooooooo, final of this already out!?" and now it is reconfirmed that is' "only" a weekly/beta. Too bad!

Can't wait for 9.50, as always with any new version of Opera

I can DEFINITELY use the "fixed/plugged crashes and memory leaks" because I've been having trouble with that lately.

Two sources report 9.21 has gone final. What's the deal? I don't know how credible this is, but here: »www.ghacks.net/2007/05/17/opera-921-out/

Also:

So is it.. or is it NOT final?

It is NOT final. These sites automatically update themselves to every build released, regardless of it being final or weekly. Opera.com still sends 9.2 for download, meaning it is not final and probably won't be for a few wks.

Okay after a little research, I think I can clear this up.

As most of you know, opera releases their finals on the FTP servers about 24 hrs before they officially announce the new version on opera.com. And opera 9.21 is ON the FTP, meaning that it will most likely be announced as a final tomorrow. However, it was a weekly at first, the fact that it is the same build number just means that the weekly turned out to be very stable, and can be released as a final version.

We will all find out the official news tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure that this weekly has turned final, seeing as it is on the FTP site. Weeklies turning final is not new, every final build of previous versions while weeklies were around (9.0, 9.1, etc) were weeklies before going final. If a weekly is tested well and works perfectly, and can (and has) become final.

Thanks for the clarification. Guess I'll grab/install it then.
