[OC] Holy hell, I OC'd my laptop !?!?!

No really, I overclocked my processor.

Pic 1 = before
Pic 2 = after the mod
Pic 3 = what Winblows sees

Simply jumpered pins 15 and 16 on row C of my processor "socket". I say simply, I've been researching this for a while, making sure my CPU would meet the criterion for an OC as well as proper cooling [apparently stock cooling is enough] and backups in case this fried a critical component.

The original instructions that I've been studying were for a Toshiba Satellite M40. I have an M45 with a processor that was listed as being available for the mod.
Original instructions can be found here: »www.overclockers.com/tips1232/

This is my first OC btw so I'm excited!

Do you know if this requires DDR or DDR2... it's not very specific in that. I have a Dell Latitude 110l that uses a Intel M 1.7ghz, the memory that's in it is ddr 2700... Does anyone know if this mod will work on my laptop?

I don't know about the RAM other than my laptop that I oc'd has 2x512mb PC2700 DDR. Hopefully somebody can answer your question more fully than I did.

I did the same thing to my Acer 3610 about 1.5 years ago. With the BSEL mod, my celery 1.5g went to 2.0g with no noticable heat increase.

What chipset do you have exocet? From my understanding, you couldn't do the BSEL mod with the older 855 chipset (whose max FSB was 400MHz and used DDR).
