I just wait until the very occasional decent movie comes out on DVD. Rent it and I'm done.
I don't care what Comcast or the Theaters do at this point. ;)

I totally agree. I have'nt set foot in a movie "theater" since the late 90's, and I only went about 5 times in the 5 or so years prior. Movies these days are TERRIBLE. The theaters are always freezing, the floors are sticky, and the people are offensive. I remember once about 10 or 15 years ago a "gentlemen" I was sitting next to kept whipping out his gun to show to his buddy sitting next to him! 99.999% of movies released since the late 80's have been terrible. Once Hollywood discovered the "magic" of computer aided special effects pretty much everything went downhill. I dont care if they spend $20m on a simulated shot of an exploding boat, it will never look as real as an actual full scale film of a real boat being blown up. CGI is so cheesy it makes everything look like a cartoon. I miss real movies with real, live actors who performed dangerous stunts on their own. I miss real animals and real explosions in movies. Most of all, I miss real interesting stories that make you want to continue watching the film and not turn it off in disgust.

The way I look at it, there hasnt been a single movie ever released that I needed to see it in the theaters. I figure that by the time it comes to VOD (I dont even do DVD any more!) if I still want to see it then I will. I think allowing on-demand viewing of new releases is a good idea. Not necessarily for me, but for the millions of other people who must hate the "magic" of the "movie going experience" as much as I do.
--
я люблю Денди!
