So for twice, or more, the price of a theater ticket, which entitles me to a huge screen and a nice surround sound system, I can watch it on my relatively small TV with four speakers doing stereo. The movie theaters should just ignore it and let it die on it's own.
Of course, your financial comparison only applies if it was "only you" going to the theater. If it was at least two or maybe more if a family is going, then your savings going to the theater disappear.
