| This worked, but the uninstaller said "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file" and the laptop will still not boot to the point where I see the taskbar.
Thanks! |

| Even a beta version shouldnt be deleting a whole hard drive!! if its that unstable, it shouldnt be released to the public even in beta form, despite the warnings... what is the current state of the LS betas? |

Beta 3 destroyed my computer and I don't wont to that to happen again! /Lou Personally, if a Beta version of any software 'destroyed my computer', I'd run as fast as I could the other way before I tried it again. (How or why that happened, I haven't a clue).
And we're talking about Ad-Aware here....a program I'd be willing to bet you could live without. I'm not knocking it mind you, but why not at least wait for the time tested final, or use the present "stable version".
Sure beats 'destroying your computer' again, wouldn't you say? -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

After updating the regular version of adaware (not the beta) I re-booted an the computer went into a DOS mode. Nothing I tryed repaired the computer and had to re-format. Have never had any problems with the computer prior to this. Had not installed any new programs. The only change was the Adaware update. Under no circumstances would I ever again install Adaware on any computer. I have used Adaware since it first came out years ago...but now its time has passed and its just excess baggage that I can do without. Over the years there have been countless issues with Adaware.....at one point it disappeared from the internet for several months.....enough is enough.....I will spend my money on more worthwhile products. |

| reply to wqwe5454qwqw No go with Vista...
May 10 2007, 08:30 AM We regularly receive inquiries now about Vista compatibility for the soon-to-be-released Ad-Aware 2007 product, and weve even said in previous announcements that the new product would be compatible when released. We know that computer users everywhere have already begun the transition to the new Windows operating system and we have every intention of delivering a new product in 2007 that is Vista compatible.
However, weve just recently discovered a technical glitch required for Ad-Aware 2007 to fully operate with Vista, and in order to meet the launch date that we committed for our worldwide customers and to completely comply with Microsofts requirements for the Vista program, the product will not be Vista compatible immediately when launched in June. Nevertheless, the new Ad-Aware 2007 product has been built with the capability to immediately distribute version updates and patches (something that was not possible with the SE versions) and all Ad-Aware users with a valid license will immediately receive the Vista compatible update when the issues are resolved this fall.
We know that Vista compatibility is an important issue for many of our customers, and rest assured that it is at the forefront of our development efforts with the Ad-Aware 2007 product.
