New photography job, total: 2

Recently, I got a new job doing event photography. My friend, who also works with me at the newspaper, works at the company and encouraged me to apply.

I applied for the job, and upon being interviewed, I was hired on the spot. The events that we shoot range from baseball to motorcross to powerlifting. Last weekend (the 5th and the 6th) we were out in the San Antonio Valley (CA) shooting a motorcross scramble event. This weekend we were out near Clear Lake shooting another motorcross event.

He pays very well (per day) and basically pays for our lodging, food, and gas.

So far, I've enjoyed it a lot. Long workdays and not very much sleep, but it's fun!

A bunch of the pictures I took this last weekend (and I took a lot) are up on the site:

There are about 2-3 of us who shoot any given race, and none of them are sorted by photographer. All of the ones at this link should be mine though.

Looks like a lot of fun as well as a lot of work. It just goes to show that if you something well, which you do, others can easily tell and make it profitable for you. The nice part about it is that it involoves all kinds of different types of shoots, so it would seem that one couldn't get bored too easily. Nice images you captured.

Great news, man! Are you using your own equipment or does the job provide it? Good luck and I wish you much success.

They provide it. It includes an almost complete Canon line, including the 600....
