Re: good luck, Sonic quote: I wish them luck, but don't hold out much hope.
Sadly I agree. VDSL2 and ADSL2+ are great, but the real benefits are on really short loops. Drive around our town and you'll see AT&T has their VDSL2 VRADs *everywhere* (well, everywhere except en102 's tract ). That's the way VDSL really needs to be deployed. Without access to those, such a small percentage of customers will see the true benefit of VDSL2 service that I'm not sure if this whole venture would really be worth it.
I guess if you look at it as Sonic wanting to become a competitive CLEC, that they might as well start out with the latest and greatest equipment. And I'm all for having someone to give Covad a run for thier money.
Either way, Dane has shown himself to be someone who wants to deliver a top quality product. He has one of the highest rated ISPs here, so I wish him the best. -- Laser eye surgery rocks! I love frickin' laser beams. |

DSL-Ex hasn't been bad, however, my line isn't always that stable, and w/o a VRAD nearby, and no plans for at&t to build one, and DirecTv prices going up... why should I stay ? |

| The Road Runner Cable has just been rocking for me. Constant 10/1 speeds, no glitches whatsoever (yet). I've just been pounding on it and it's performing great. And from the looks of things in the TW forum, TW seems to be in the process of upgrading from 10/1 to 15/2. If we get that in Santa Clarita it's going to be tough for AT&T or any of its resellers to get me back as a customer. -- Laser eye surgery rocks! I love frickin' laser beams. |

I pretty much do a evaluation of the carriers around here every year before resigning up with DSL... This year may end my DSL, if the price is right. |
