Costs for new gutters?

I am helping my elderly parents hire someone to install new gutters on their house. The old gutters have already been removed. How much should I expect to pay for new seamless gutters, standard installation with downspouts, etc.? Are charges figured by the linear foot, or some other way?

thanks, Mark

I had a quote of $2.00 a foot and $50.00 per downspout.

He:) 1 story, 2 story, 3 story or 4? 1000sqft, 2000sqft, 3000sq ft, or more?

In other words, With the question the way it is now how could ANYBODY be expected to corectly answer that?

With that said, Using stuff I got it lowes, I did my 2000sqft 1 story house for just under $200 and 4 hours of time. Of course this was a little while ago, Don't know how the prices for guttering are now.

1 story 1200 square feet. But there will not be guttering all the way around. I guess I was wondering how the prices are calculated for professional installation - by the linear foot, etc., plus downspouts.

I believe this is usually the standard way of quoting for standard guttering. There may be some additional charges if there is tricky areas or additional materials or labor is required.

Contact a few different companies to get detailed quotes and compare them.

Was this the installed price, or was labor extra?

That was materials and labor.

I had these »www.leafguard.com/home.asp installed a couple of years ago, don't remember exactly what they cost but it wasn't too bad.

Especially with elderly parents (you don't want them climbing ladders to clean gutters), if there are any trees near the house I would highly recommend leafguard.

Interesting that you posted this today, as the gutters were installed today.

Total price for 110 feet of seamless aluminum guttering, 3 downspouts, and leafguards, was $740.

I thought the price was fair, having gotten 2 other estimates in the same range. Couldn't find anyone to do it for $2 a foot

Prices here may be a bit higher than elsewhere, as there is a tremendous amount of new constuction going on since Hurricane Katrina.

The installers did a nice job; these gutters look and feel substantial. Most importantly, my mother is happy with the job
