Ohhh Fairpoint...

Before the talk of all this Fairpoint crap got started, several years ago, I asked several Verizon guys here if FiOs was on the table for Maine. There answers were 3-5 years...and this was 2 years ago. Obviously this isnt the case anymore since the sale is imminent, but from what i understand, the copper lines in my area anyways, are aged quite a bit. Fiber would have been the answer, and there is a good chance Verizon could have made a turn around if they got off there asses and ran FiOS and there TV product. TW is mopping the floor with Verizon and there telephone service. I wonder if Fairpoint has seen the numbers of houses passed / houses served?

I had assumed they would keep right on going through to Augusta, Maine...God knows we can use it.

That's because Southern NH is full of Massachusetts workers.

I know Verizon shipped some of there Maine workers down south (NH and Mass.) to splice fiber during there many days of not being busy.

Although it would be heaven sent, I just can't envision in my mind, Verizon, or anyone running fiber past Augusta, and certainly not up around my part of the boons around Bang-gah!
