| Looking for a change...
I am very bored of WoW, after 2 years of playing...its boring...so im looking for a change! is there any other games that are good out there? Company of Heroes is a good RTS, looking for maybe a good FPS (Crysis?) and maybe a new MMORPG? Is vanguard or LOTRO any good or just maybe wait intill Hellgate London and Age of Conan? |

i was pretty much where you are after about a year and a half of WoW. I moved on to Dungeons and Dragons Online for awhile because it offered a different kind of gameplay. Eventually i got bored of that too and now my gf and i are just looking for regular RTS and FPS games to play.
We tried LOTRO, but its basically more of the same. Don't know about Vanguard, but friends tell me its not very impressive.
What made DDO interesting to me was that it had a first-person-shooter-type of combat. But its give and take. Everything is instanced because of a lot of data is passed around so there's no way to make an efficient open world environment. Instanced mmorpgs gets old pretty fast.
Lately we tried a few different games like CaesarIV, GTASA, Empire Earth 2, GRAW. they're all decent games but nothing spectacular. |

| reply to MADMAN222 First piece of advice, don't sell your account. Keep it. I did that mistake when I stopped playing in November 2005. When I decided to pick the game back up in April 2006, I didn't have my characters to work from. I did get them back, but not until someone tried using hacking tools on the characters and got caught. The account was frozen, and I was called about it in September 2006 by Blizzard. Thats when I got my characters back, but in horrible shape.
Point is, just hold onto the account and let it expire.
As for what else to play, I really can't help you on that. WoW is my game right now and I don't see myself changing anytime soon. -- My Domain Nightfall's Hockey and Life Journal |

1 edit | reply to MADMAN222 I have to say... (sticking with PC only) the most fun I've had over the last 12 months has been F.E.A.R and it's expansion pack.
Leaving PC land to include console land... The most fun (by far) I've had in the last two years would be Dead Rising on the 360. Dead Rising was one of those very rare games that left me in a depressed stuper after I finished it (for the 3rd time in a row). I watched movies for two weeks because no game could hold my attention for awhile.
Sell you're account and don't look back. Be happy you got away from the life sucking waste of time (curse) known as WoW. |

| reply to MADMAN222 Just finished STALKER for the first time about 10 minutes ago. It was a lot of fun but didn't take long to finish and the ending kind of sucked, but maybe the next go will be better. FEAR and the expansion was much better than STALKER, especially where graphics were concerned, and it even spooked me a couple times in certain areas. NWN and NWN2 are my all time favorites so far, and I'm about to have another go at NWN2. I'm really looking forward to Hellgate London and pray my system can play it, or that I'll be able to upgrade if needed, but I'm not sure how hard that will be with a laptop or if it's possible. Other than those, I'm not sure what to recommend because that's about all I've played recently. |
