1 edit | Similar situation... A couple years ago, I downloaded an episode of a TV show that was pre-empted by local sports on the night it aired. It was a crucial episode in a serial drama at the end of its season, and to miss an installment was to miss a critical part of the story. It was the first time I had downloaded an episode of a TV show.
I received my first and only DMCA letter as a result of downloading that episode.

mobbo join:2005-04-13 Denton, TX | reply to alg I use ShareTV.org for my TV and, according to them, almost no one gets DMCA letters from CBS, ABC, or Fox... but NBC and HBO do. Nothing legally troubling but just a letter to your ISP. I download Family Guy, The Daily Show, How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy (for the gf I swear), 30 Rock, and The Office without a DMCA yet (knock on wood). I'm exploring a few options regarding IP masking or VPN but so far nothing has worked 100%. |
