What grounds exist for the FCC to get involved here? This is a fight in state court over state law, without federal involvement.

If the voters approved the project, than they understand the "risks" involved. I think Lafayette should go after the "citizens" behind the lawsuits for damages and lawyer fees and other court costs, seeing how they lost at the supreme court level. This might make the "citizens" think about their actions in the future...JMT
