Re: DE Pixellation Tonight

I hear ya. I had minor to major tiling issues on Comcast on and off for like 3 years. Sunday nights were always the worst. I would call in so pissed! One time the rep told me that maybe I should just downgrade to analog.

I hope you all are asking for billing credits. Truck rolls and credits usually end up getting things fixed.... for the wrong reason.

No, there are no credits.

I have to call in every month just to get my bundling credits.

I don't have kids - but it's almost like FIOS is my child, based on how much I have to look after it.

As of 5:30 Eastern, the pic is breaking up so badly you can't even watch the channel for more than 10 seconds.

This is wonderful. Guess I won't be watching TV this evening.
I just did Live Chat again, and was told after 3 hours noone has even looked at my trouble ticket (but, they are in on Sundays)

IF YOU ARE IN PA or DE - CALL IN! PLEASE! THEY WON'T EVEN TRY TO FIX IT IF YOU DON'T CALL IN.

They just told me it's an issue affecting 3 states and it probably won't be resolved until 3am...

it's bad in central NJ too , I called tech support and he reset my receivers twice and the ONT once. It didn’t make any difference. then the tech said he seen a number of calls are coming in for the same issue which means he now realizes it’s a system wide problem not a home issue that could be resolved with a reset.

Re: DE Pixellation (AGAIN!!!)

my brother has reported sound problems here in central jersey. he said the sound would just randomly drop or become very low,

I'm not sure if this is related to this but he told me that its not normal tv viewing experience. i told him to report any pixellation to me.

Southeastern PA, checking in. Noticed pixelation/audio problems on 52, 102, 222, 224 and it's still happening as of now (7:20PM). Didn't notice it until now, was doing other junk this morning and afternoon.

Heh, I should direct the person that I've been in contact with at the FSC over the past week (not a first-tier technician) to this thread when he calls back tomorrow. That, or leave another message with the "customer complaints and grievances" number that I was given...

Thanks Noping - it's been going on since Noon! Glad to see we're all enjoying the fun.

DDude-
Yeah, the pixellation causes the sound to drop out too - so i'm sure he's seeing the same thing.

And you thought you could get through the entire weekend problem free?? Anyway, BBC World 92 pixelated with several seconds of audio dropout. 7 PM EST.

STB reports 37+ dB SNR, no errors. It's a problem with the source.

Watching 60 Minutes - clear on 3 but changing into other channels during commercials gives a couple of secs of pixies (maybe Pixann is back?? or am I too old??)

You don't need me to tell you, but it was bad here too. This was the worst I've seen since signing up. I do think weekends (particularly sundays) tend to be the worst, although I've never experienced extended problems - until today. Generally I see some pixellating, for maybe 15 minutes, and then it clears up. Today was definitely different. Every channel was bad - some worse than others. I was watching the race on HD Net and it just kept cutting out. Even the music choice channels were having sound drop-outs for a while. I have one on now (it's been on for over an hour - it started out really bad - cutting out every couple seconds. Now it appears ok. Haven't heard a drop-out in at least 20 minutes.

All this being said, for Hooper's edification, I don't normally see it like this. I'll see intermitent problems occasionally on the weekends - stuff will pixellate, like I said, off and on for 15 minutes, and then everything will be fine. Others may report more extensive problems. Today was definitely exceptionally bad.

Re: DE Pixellation (AGAIN!!!)

Yeah, we've got it here in Middletown, too. Annoying as all hell. I called it in, got the standard "we're aware of the problem, no ETA, but we're aware."

I'm right there with you, Jeep. I love the quality of Fios, but the service is CRAP. I literally called them 27 times last month concerning the Multi Room DVR issue, only to find out someone deleted the service from my acct without my permission.

It was, to say the least, an exercise in frustration.

@verizon.net

I just got off the phone with customer service. They said the problem is affecting PA, NJ, and DE. They have a faulty "device" and they are switching everyone over to a new "device" and then they will try a reboot and switch everyone back to the original "device." The estimated time for the repair could be as late as midnight.

Right now my picture and sound varies from annoying to unwatchable.

So it's OLD DEVICE > NEW DEVICE > REBOOT > BACK TO OLD DEVICE?????

Sounds like we are going to be right back where we started. IF they fix it tonight, I have a funny feeling we are all going to be back here next weekend with the same problem.

If they have a "NEW DEVICE', why can't we try that one for the next week or two, it can't be any worse than what they have now??

Oh well, 9PM and I still see the picture breaking up.

Re: DE Pixellation (AGAIN!!!)

Its bad here too outside of Philly. Watching channel 102 before 9PM and it was getting bad. We watched abc 6 on the lower analog channels and it didnt happen for 90 minutes.

Now I am back on DISCSC102 and its worse. Checked out 228 and bad too. Hope this is a device problem and it does get fixed. I am a fairly new FIOS customer (2 weeks) and really like it.
