Re: Yay Cox!!

I moved from Sprint DSL to Cox Comunication because everyone raved about the newsgroup service.

Less than a year later I had to subscribe to a premium news service because Cox destroyed their newsgroup service.

When the month of May arrived last year, suddently I had no service from 4 in the afternoon until 8 or 9 at night.

I met all my neighbors and we all had the same problem, but discovered if we all telephone suport when an outage in analog, digital, or internet service went out. A truck would appear, and they could confirm the outage. It was late August when they were finally able to isolate and repair the line, bring service back to our Vegas neighborhood.

It was almost funny, as Several neighbors believed the TV and Internet outages was normal. The three neighbors had moved from smaller comunities in several different states, this was their first experence with Cable Service.

Since last August, digital TV service has been decent, but when an outage does occure or is planned, Cox never seems to post much on the status page.

Also the new temporary speed boost does not allow a user to document the slower delivered Internet speeds that is the norm after a few moments. It seems the speed boost last long enough to accomplish a speed test, and then degrades to less that speed advertised and paid to be delivered.

Customer service, Is mostly polite but not well informed. Yet they seem to be good for customers that have little Internet experience, but most customer service employees are not well equipped for the more experienced Internet user reporting a problem.
