Your file extensions probably changed because your computer's infected...sounds like you have a worm. Try AVG Free AV...that should find it.

Download AVG, update it, scan your computer.
Search the forum & you'll see other people have had this problem...AVG has fixed things for quite a few

| interesting. thank you name game. i spent two and a half hours trying to clean it. the online scanners kept crashing. 10 viruses, and over 8000 infected files. i saw trojans and downloaders, and other goodies.
i told them i would come back another day to reinstall windows. now maybe i'll give AVG a shot first. that's what i use on my home computers.
they have a Norton suite, but looking at the logs, i see they only go back 30 days. i'm thinking they were without protection before that.

| Sorry for all the funky links..I am still trying to find where someone has actully recovered their mp3 files..and then sucessfully fix all the problems..so let us know how you make out and thanks for the posting.
