| So long as you always see 15000+ from the speakeasy site, then your connection is working just fine. Still, if you are using XP, you might want to run the Verizon optimizer (requires IE) here:

Not all Internet sites are capable of 15mbit. I have 30Mbit FiOS service, and I get 25Mbit from some sites but 5Mbit or less from others. If you use Firefox, you can download a plug-in ("DownloadThemAll") that will use multiple simultaneous connections to download files, thus improving throughput on sites that place a hard cap on each connection. |

At the above site, you tried NY and DC and only got 5-7Mbit?
There is speed loss across country. For example, I get 25-30mbit from NY and DC, but just 6-8mbit from CA and WA. |
