| [DW7000] Signal Strength Question
I have a DW7000 system which has been extremely trouble-free until recently. We've moved to a new house and have the dish mounted on the roof, but the weird thing is that when you connect to the DW7000 control-panel from the laptop, it shows a signal strength of 15% with NO cables connected to the satellite modem from the dish! If you connect the SAT-IN cable, you get a signal strength of 29% (and I might that does not change regardless of where the dish is pointed). |

| Who mounted the dish on the roof?? It's possible to get a 15% signal showing with nothing hooked up. Most likely some stray rf getting into the modem from the back.
As far as the 29% signal strength all that's showing is that your not locked into your assigned satellite. In other words the dish isn't properly pointed...your not on the satellite. If you had an installer relocate your dish then he did it wrong and you need to get him back out there. If you did it yourself then you have to get back up on the roof with your laptop and aim the dish properly. -- HN7000S IA-8 1270 / 8-PSK 3/4 (14) / Router:67.142.140.95 /.74 1 watt / Pro / Pentium 3.2ghz, 1gb ram / WinXP Pro/ Firefox 2.0.0.3 |
