ISDN price

Just got a callback from bellsouth, and they said ISDN was available here, but the price they gave was ridiculus.

It was $200 to setup the line, $77 a month for the line, only allowed 200 hours of usage, and then internet service isn't even provided with that? If internet isn't provided, what the hell is $77 a month for?

For 128kbps that seems outrageous. Do I have to get ISDN through my current phone providers, or is there a cheaper alternative for me?

You might want to take a look at the FAQ ^ All the answers are there.

That sounds about right.

So much for bonding 2 ISDNs, huh?

Sorry to say it, but this isn't DSL and it isn't for the faint of heart.

Prices seem to vary from $40 to $140+ from what I've seen. I'm at $54 in MI with SBC (well, AT&T now).

I just found out that cable WILL not serve my home and BS/ATT does not offer DSL at my new home. Who did you contact at ATT to see if you were able to get ISDN ? I would like to find out if that is an alternative before "trying" out Satellite. I hear that is a hate/hate relationship!

I can help you out, check your PM

Mizzat,

I moved to a rural area north of Columbia, SC and I don't think I am getting DSL or cable any time soon. I convinced my parents to get ISDN years ago before Cable and DSL and I think I am ready to go back to it. Can you do anything for me? I'm not really keen on signing with a username on DSLreports but I will if that is the best way for you to contact me. Is posting my email address as "at gmail dot com" safe you think?

Well since you registered and IMed me, I suppose this is irrelevant, but I'd be happy to help. I sent you a PM back.
