Re: What ATM Encapsulation for 2wire 2700 ?

Interesting that they all work. Routed VC-Mux should be the choice for Qwest PPPoA connections.

Yeah, I believe that's (VCMux) what I use as well.

Just for interest, here's the list of ones supported by my 'ol USR9002. (not-Qwest-supported)

;Possible values for the Encapsulation:
; 0 - RFC2364 PPPoverATM LLC/SNAP (ATM, ENCAP=0)
; 1 - RFC2364 PPPoverATM VCMux (ATM, ENCAP=1)
; 2 - RFC 1483 IPoverATM Bridged LLC/SNAP (Lan, ENCAP=0)
; 3 - RFC 1483 IPoverATM Bridged VCMux (Lan, ENCAP=1)
; 4 - RFC 1483 IPoverATM Routed LLC/SNAP (Lan, ENCAP=2)
; 5 - RFC 1483 IPoverATM Routed VCMux (Lan, ENCAP=3)
; 6 - RFC 2364 WAN-PPPoverATM LLC/SNAP (WAN, ENCAP=0)
; 7 - RFC 2364 WAN-PPPoverATM VCMux (WAN, ENCAP=1)
; 8 - RFC 2516 PPPoverEthernet Embedded LLC/SNAP (WAN, ENCAP=2)
; 9 - RFC 2516 PPPoverEthernet Embedded VCMux (WAN, ENCAP=3)

Whew...

Lotta of those..I once spent about 20 minutes on the phone with a tech discussing the various protocols, since he hadn't heard of some of the RFC's...

Neat-O though, I'm still getting good uptime on it:
6:41am up 38 days, 27 min
Even thought I had a major thunderstorm here last night. Lightning actually hit across the street..was loud as hell when the thunder hit about 2 seconds later....never even blipped my connection.

Nature's Shock & Awe at work.

Thanks. I suspected VC-Mux was used in my old actiontec but had no clue about bridged or routed.
