No, whats amazing is it's guide giving the customers what they actually want. What a novel concept.

Hummm, lets look at this with logic. I know yet another novel concept. Would I rather have a boring guide with limited functionality with ads, or a completely customizable guide sans ads. Hummm, thats a tough choice.

Ok, lets do that....my experience is limited to Dish network, Direct TV and TWC over the last 7 years,

I dont recall seeing any ads, I was always able to find my shows and I am not looking to be entertained by such a mundane thing as a TV Guide.

I could understand that if you are rooted to your couch 24/7 channel hopping that a TV guide would be high on your priorities for things to embrace, but to be honest it means nothing to me. Every Guide I have ever seen serves its purpose.

I guess you haven't seen Motorola DVR from Comcast, the equivalent of a giant billboard on your screen.

I am impress! I wish Insight/Comcast would do something like this with their guide, because it is slow, freezes, and not very interactive friendly.

This wasn't in any TiVo demo I saw

TiVo System Message Spam

A flash demo isn't going to represent the real thing in the least. They certainly aren't going to put ads in the demo. Comcast's original demos and screenshots didn't have ads either but we saw how that went. TiVo doesn't demo their annoying banner ads, system message spam and annoying thumbs up popup ads, and popups while FF ads but I know my Series 1 and 2 are FILLED with them.

As such I assume everything is crap until I see how it works first hand. I'm reserving judgement until my neighbor gets it and I can see if it really doesn't have any ads and how fast it is.

Anyone claiming that the new Verizon interface won't have ads is full of crap. TiVo and Comcast didn't start with ads but that is where they quickly ended up and unless Verizon says unequivocally that the new interface will never have ads, assume it will.
