I'd like a quick mafia game. One that requires all players to be online, and total game lasts maximum 2 hrs. |

You are a Doctor. Each night, you may protect a player from one attack on their life. If a player is targeted for kill more than once that night, your protection will fail. You may not protect yourself. You win with the town. You may submit your choices via PM or (-DELETED-). Good luck!

The game I'm planning would have to be closed, but will have certain elements that encourage people to participate. Have faith! Mod whacking them tends to motivate them. This is why I suggested Obliteration as mod.
Some 24hr day time limit and 12 hr night limit was something I said I thought was a good idea so days won't go on 3 or so real days like the last game. -- "The constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper."-George W. Bush, Nov. 2005 |

The problem isn't just logged-in people that aren't posting; it's people who signed up to play and don't have any free time to play. You need to get a firm commitment when people sign up. If folks don't have any free time, then they don't, and they just need to say so. Or you could just make something like an Absentee Cop role whose duties were to never show up. |

That way you could rule out a lot of roles but it wouldn't be overly simplified. |

| reply to MDReferee Non-trivial open game with normal moderator, that's what I am waiting for. In other words, include the special roles but let them be known. Closed games are dull and boring because there is nothing to work with.
Modkills of non-participants sounds good. That victory in the other game due solely to the cop being at work was LAME. |

| reply to MDReferee Good game everyone.
Especially you, AmeritecTech, I still can't believe nobody (except Obliteration) pushed for a vote on you. After I died (too early) I noticed the cult recruiter also died. I figured he was trying to recruit one of his friends in real life, something either you or KewlKarim pointed out early in the game. So I figured either AmeritecTech or KewlKarim was mafia. Then, in the middle of the game somewhere, when Obliteration was about to be lynched, you came out late and basically said "no, he's innocent" Of course, no one knows that but the Mafia, so it was a good cover for you. That's when I figured you had to be Mafia.
And I agree with Obliteration, lurkers are never good for the town. They either need to be voted on or the mod should prod them. And oh yeah, dying on the first night sucks -- And I'm losing all those stupid games, that I swore I'd never play. But it almost feels okay. "Aside" -The Weakerthans |

| reply to Obliteration said by Obliteration :Lurlyn was asking you for advice after all right after like 10 townies deaths. That's because I spent the whole game building rapport. If you had managed to get me lynched, I'm confident that Lurlyn would have saved me, which is a good part of the reason we kept her around. -- "Independent thinkers tend to ALWAYS have someone Not agreeing with them. 1 edit | reply to AmeritecTech said by AmeritecTech :said by Obliteration :Nobody ever listens to Obliteration, especially at the end. AmeritecTech's claim to frame him should have had the remaining townies up in arms and lynching him. Not necessarily. If you had been going after someone else, I would have killed you to frame that person, in which case lynching that person would have been bad for the town. Your case against me was not great. It consisted mostly of "he seems like a townie, therefore he is mafia". That said, you're one of the few people that we killed because you were considered a threat. Your mafia blocking was a non-issue because we had you role-blocked. But anyway, I think you played the game really well, and you kept implicating our members. I had to hold them back from killing you several times because of the consequences it would have had in implicating us. Well done! I can make my case with no evidence. That is one thing I'm pretty decent at this game.
If you would have killed Lurlyn before me. I would have made a huge push for you.
Anyway, you played it very well and so did Jehu. I think however your tell will be obvious like Yock's if you play it like that again. I don't know how it slipped by me this long, might have been you and Yock pushed not to lynch me and against it. I saw that a huge mafia benefit and no reason why you wouldn't let the lynch or push for another one again as I doubt that would have given you away. You need to present evidence against others and make bigger cases on them when mafia so you have no tell. In my opinion you do this a lot more as a townie which is why I all of a sudden came in with a vote for you. Seemed too odd like Yock. Not a huge tell obviously as I don't think many there noticed. Lurlyn was asking you for advice after like 10 townies deaths.
P.S.- Quit playing like mafia for other townies(Aztec, Teather, and Jager).
No vocal opinions are found extremely odd since you are not helping the town try to find mafia. -- "The constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper."-George W. Bush, Nov. 2005 |

| reply to Obliteration said by Obliteration :said by muzscman :holy crap...good job. i mean fantastic job guys. i say we let game 10 finish up then we can start two smaller games. this 23 person game lasted waaaay to long. The amount of people is fine. People who don't participate need to be mod killed faster and make it role revealed. They tend to go much faster and be a lot more interesting as in my opinion they require more skill since these keep the town in the dark the whole game about how many are against them. Frankly, I think a 50 person game would be interesting but it would never reach that point since I doubt that many people want to play. The reason these go so slow is because they are closed mainly. Meaning nobody knows what roles they have or don't. I could agree with that.....Well, whenever game 11 is started (possibly wait until 10 is done) i think we should start another one.
