I was thinking of doing something half-open... say you have ten participants, give them a list of 20 roles and say the roles in the game are picked from this list. That way you could rule out a lot of roles but it wouldn't be overly simplified. |

The problem isn't just logged-in people that aren't posting; it's people who signed up to play and don't have any free time to play. You need to get a firm commitment when people sign up. If folks don't have any free time, then they don't, and they just need to say so. Or you could just make something like an Absentee Cop role whose duties were to never show up. |

This is why I suggested Obliteration as mod. 
Some 24hr day time limit and 12 hr night limit was something I said I thought was a good idea so days won't go on 3 or so real days like the last game.
