| reply to MDReferee Re: Mafia 8: Strange Days in Broadtown
I have to agree with the guy I annoyed most last game, I try to cut the new players some slack, it is their first game, I would like them to get to play a little. In the interests of fostering at least a little participation, and to discourage lurkers, I'm going to
Vote: Marijuana
Just a temporary vote, but you do lurk. -- And I'm losing all those stupid games That I swore I'd never play But it almost feels okay. |

| reply to Rook008 First of all, sorry for leading the vote against you. No hard feelings, I had to do something today and your name came up at the top of the list.
I think the Ipod is merely flavor text. I think the graffiti does point toward a cult. The rules on cults vary, but I think typically there is a cult leader in the beginning of the game who recruits folks into the cult. Once everyone left alive is in the cult the cult wins. So we have town versus mafia versus cult and townies and/or mafia could turn into cult along the way.
Methinks the cult is what we need to worry most about (although we can't slouch off the mafia either). the more days it goes unchecked the more powerful it becomes. -- If it is not recorded, it simply does not exist. |

| reply to Dezbend From what I read, if the Cult Leader tries to recruit a Mafia member they will be killed.
»mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Cult
The Cult recruits players into something like a Mason group. In one variation, the Cult is on the Town's side, while in another the Cult is a separate evil group trying to take over the Town. In either variation, the Cult is successful when recruiting a player on the Town side, while a Cult member dies if they attempts to recruit a Mafia member. For the most part, cults cannot kill. |

| reply to Dezbend lol, no hard feeling Dezbend, I know how the game goes.
Yeah, maybe the Ipod was flavor, I was just curious because it is kind of prominent in the opening, maybe MDReferee just likes Rage Against The Machine?
The cult could be a big problem. If they recruit one a day, after a few days they could wield an amount of power that could prove too much for our small town. -- And I'm losing all those stupid games That I swore I'd never play But it almost feels okay. |

Also, Antares, no hard feelings. You used the strategy you thought would work best, and I can't hold that against you. I agree that lurkers should be discouraged. It does noone any good if someone remains quiet for most of the game only to suddenly become active once the numbers have dwindled down. It gives the rest of us no information to work with. |

| reply to htmlartist No hard feeling man, in the first game and the last, I was Mafia and had to play the bad guy, so calling you guys names and stuff was part of my mindset. It's just internet stuff, I don't take it personally.
[OT] Muzscman, do you set up the playlists yourself? I noticed a lot of Pink Floyd on there, but the Celine Dion track really threw me off. |

| Don't get me wrong, there's a time and place for Celine Dion too, just not between Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
