Well, the results of the test are in.
I have a 3cm x 5cm cancer spot just about dead center on my right lung. From there it has spread to the lymph nodes .and the top of the lung.
To make things a little easier, I also have pneumonia.
I have been given two options, immediate chemo therapy to remove it all.
Wait until the pneumonia is cured and surgically remove the top part of the lung. Providing I can pas a breathing test proving that I can sustain myself with just the left lung functioning
Have not made up my mind as to what I want to do, this one is going to take a little research before I put my name on the dotted line.

I hope everything works out for you. Below is just a little explanation about what those tests are and what they actually do.
We do those types of test on our patients all the time. They are simply known as PFT's. Pulmonary Function Tests. It is really a series of different studies. FVL or Spirometry, to determine the flow rates of your airways. TGV or Body Plethysmography (big word for Lung Volume studies to check your Total Lung Capacity), Raw & sGaw (airway resistance and conductance), and DLCO or (Diffusion studies) to determine how well oxygen diffuses across your alveolar capillary membrane.
There is no pain involved in any of those tests and it generally takes between 30" to an hour to do the test. Depending upon the lab they may draw an ABG or Arterial Blood Gas to correct for your diffusion study. They may also give you a bronchodilator after all testing and then make you repeat the Spirometry portion over to see if there is improvement in the flow rates of your airways.
I did not mean to inundate you with this, just to let you get familiar with what they are wanting to do with the test. You should get your pneumonia cleared up first, before the testing.

george, BLESS YOU! I am not walking distance within a church, but my wife is always going to pray, she goes to church where she lives overseas about every other day. She and our boy will light a candle for you and pray. I have had loved ones myself with lung disorders that were very serious and I really really feel for you.
Yes indeed, Miracles happen every day, and a lot of them at that. My daughter from my first marriage had cysto circosis (I am probably spelling it wrong) because where she came from the water was bad and worms got in her brain that the brain calcified to fight back. She kept getting seizures but we went to church full of hope and faith (the world famous Lakewood Oasis of Love Church in Houston, TX) and we prayed with Pastor Osteen and don't you know it, after only a few months she stopped having problems and is a proud mommy today.
Although it is my belief that this life is just a stopping ground for a miraculous hyper-verse (physicist now believe there are countless universes, and so do I, being a student of the science) where life continues in some way we can't possibly know until we get to go there.
My loving prayers are going to you and to the one I worship right now! In the name of my Savior, I believe!
