1 edit | Verizon FiOS monthly rate
Hello, I decided to switch to FiOS from comcast cable. They are going to install it on June 4, 2007. I ordered the triple package, phone, 20Mbps/5Mbps internet, and FiOS TV (Movie and HBO package). I have four televisions. Three will have standard boxes and one will have the HD DVR set-top. They will charge a one time fee of $39.99 (19.99 activation and 19.99 for 4th tv) and a monthly rate of 166.05 (not sure if it includes tax). I was just wondering if this rate is similar to others. Also I called to order the service.. Would I have saved money if I ordered it online? Thanks! |

I don't have the Triple Play, as it is not offered here.
But for local + a long distance package, 15/2 Internet, and TV -- 1 HD DVR, 1 Multi-Room DVR, 1 HD Box, 1 SD Box, and the Movies + Sports Package I am paying just over $200 w/taxes included. |

1 edit | reply to kes601 I have the triple play here... with 5/2 internet, and the Freedom Essentials phone pack. For tv, I have the MR DVR, along with a standard STB. The only add-on I have is the movie pack.
I don't know what my true final cost will be (still waiting for the triple-play discounts to get fully factored in), but based on past bills, it should come in right around $145/month (that includes all taxes rolled in).
I was a little concerned with the franchise fee (I came from DirecTV and didn't pay any such fee). The salesman told me that a good rule of thumb for all additional fees (taxes and franchise) is to add 9% on the TV bill. Mine came in much less than that. |

Watch your first bill carefully. They may try to hit you with random charges. |

1 edit | The first bill may be higher than the first as they charge you for the first month and a percentage of the second to get you on their billing cycle. The second bill will be less.
Until recently, I paid $100/mo for 15Mbps Internet, FioS Premier, one HDTV DVR, and one HDTV STB. I lost one of my $5/mo promos when I upgraded to a faster connection, so I'm now paying $111/mo. |

| reply to spankynuts I signed up for a 'double play' package they were offering as I don't really make use of my land line phone very much. Basic digital 200-channels plus 20MB Internet was bundled together for $69/mo. I added movie/sports ($15.99), HD DVR ($12.99), and two more digital boxes ($9.98) which comes to about $108. Add on my landline service, approx. $15 of which the majority is taxes, for a total of about $123. |
