327W Constantly Acquiring Network Address

Didn't get a reply at Verizon DSL ONLine so here I am. I've noticed the broadband icon in the active programs side of the taskbar has a pointer moving side to side. Hovering the mouse over the icon gives me a "Acquiring Network Address" message. This is since I replaced my 2200 with the 327W which I'm using as a router and modem.

I'm still able to maintain my internet connection but was wondering if this was a problem which can be corrected if necessary or is it normal?

Are you using WiFi or a wired connection?

If WiFi, this could indicate some local wireless interference, such as from a wireless phone.

There is a wireless phone station approx 10 feet from the modem/router. I disconnected it and moved it out of the room but it didn't change the action on the icon.

From your description, it appears to be a WiFi problem. If not a wireless phone, perhaps some other source of interference. Or maybe your computer is too far from the 327w (electromagnetic distance, affected by shielding, etc). Or perhaps you have a defective 327w.

I'll go with the WiFi problem. The computer is no more than 3 feet from the 327. Just received the 327 and I'll assume it's a good one for now. In any event, the icon is no longer active.
