There's a few reasons the US is behind.Greed is the biggest cause.Another is that alot of asian countries had no real infrastructure,so when they deployed,it was pretty much a clean slate.There's also bad caps,restrictions,and censoring/banning of sites.Also,others don't usually get good speeds outside their country.A guy in Latvia was getting 100Mbs,but is limited to about 56-128k outside the country,though it may be different now(haven't heard from him in a while).
Although the numbers may be a good way to try boosting the US broadband,they are really misleading.They need to give people all the facts,not just possible highest speed. |
