Got that done, and everything is upgraded, but the problem still exists on that server.

I'm actually upgrading all my FreeBSD systems to RELENG_6 now, largely because of the recent vulnerability in "file".

Interesting.

Have you tried cvsup'ing to the most recent copy of RELENG_6 and rebuilding world/kernel to see if any kernel changes between -RELEASE and -STABLE fix it? Might be worth a shot if you have the time.

Otherwise, post to freebsd-stable with what you've tried here, and let someone respond. I'm thinking Scott Long will be able to help, since he's worked on twa(4) as of late.
