Re: Sounds nice

I have been a BB user since the 8700, and now have an 8800.

What's the problem with the backlight? The 7290 needed a backlight in any dark situation because you couldn't see anything on the screen without it.

On the 8700/8800 the backlight is automatically illuminated depending upon the ambient light in the room/area your in. As soon as you tap any key, the entire screen (and keyboard in low light) will illuminate. There is no seperate backlight key like your using now. It's far more pretty too!

Battery life. I can go over 3 days without a charge by minimal use of the backlight. It's nice having the OPTION of a backlight, but it being required to see the screen is silly when RIM has demonstrated a product without this flaw.

I can easily go 3 days without recharging my 8800. In fact, i've gotten 5-6 days once without a recharge!

And i'm an IT Director, it doesn't sit idle!

About 24-36 hours for me.
