Other then eBay, where can I find a used or rebuilt engine on line? Preferably a site where Canadians also post since I don't want to import the engine to Canada.
Thanx |

| reply to peter_m Better off having the orig engine rebuilt, if you don't have it or it is toast you have other options. If it is a 409 its harder, if a 327 or 283 just put a 350 in it. Of course I'm assuming you don't have a numbers matching SS big block convertible(drool). Not a cheap way to go, but I saw a neat pimp my ride episode where they took one of those old big chevies, and put a turbo diesel in it, got 28 mpg and whipped a mazerati in a quarter mile race. On biodiesel! |

| All I know is it's automatic transmission and convertible. SS or not, I don't know. The owner is a friend of my dad's and his original engine has been misplaced while it was on it's way to be rebuilt... don't ask... cause I don't know anything other then the story is weird
EDIT: it's confirmed, it's an SS... |

| reply to peter_m Call the local GM Dealer and price a Goodwrench 327 or 350 and/or ask about a Crate Motor?
This is an interesting link if you need casting numbers.

Maybe I am mixing the 327HP 350 up with what they offer. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |
