[Telephone] Call Forwarding

How do you forward a call to another number? I tried it and its turned on but it doesn't forward the calls as I have tried with my cell phone.

Just going to ask to obvious questions:

A) Have you activated it? via: 1-866-207-3663

If so, I imagine you have..

B) Do you have over 12 numbers forwarded already?

I doubt it,.. so..

C) Did you press *63 and add the number(s) that you wished to be forwarded to?

D) If you've done all the above,.. perhaps deactivating and reactivating might help.

Have you tried pressing *83 to Deactivate,.. Then hanging up, and reactivating?

Another option you could try is the "Call Forward Variable" as its called.

Where it works similar to the regular Call Forwarding, but is activated a bit different.

(Have someone ready to pick up the phone at the location you want the calls to be forwarded to) IE: Have your cell phone in hand.

Pick up your phone,.. and press *72 -- and wait for the dial tone to come back.

Now Dial the number you want your calls to be forwarded to . This service will activate when you or someone else picks up the phone at the number you dialed.

If you listen, a tone will confirm the activation.

To turn it off -- Simply press *73 and you will hear a tone.

Hope some of this helps.

Straight off the Comm site -- But I've used it before and it seems to work just fine.

Charter's call forwarding feature does not require anyone to answer the phone to be answered. When you forward calls
using *72 you will hear dial tone then dial the number you want calls forwarded to, then you will hear a fast busy signal and thats it. The calls will be forwarded.

Good to know -- Was just keeping with the Charter "Instruction" sheet. We all know how accurate that can be.
