This is indeed our first child, so we're both super-duper excited! We've got 2 nieces and 2 nephews, so Ryan's the tie-breaker (giving the edge to us males... that's good, we need it! My wife's 1 of 3 girls ...)
Anywho, mom and baby are doing just great. Stacy's up and about and you'd never know she just had a kid. Ryan's awake, alert, and just the cutest damned kid I've ever seen (then again, I'm biased... but it's a good thing he got Mommy's genes!)
To answer a few questions above -- the hospital allows phones, laptops, etc. in the labor & delivery rooms ... in fact, they provide free wireless access. Of course, I paid more attention to my wife than the laptop. It was really there for me to empty out CF memory cards ....
We'll be going home tomorrow, and I think that's when it's --REALLY-- going to set in. I'm a daddy!
Thanks again for all the kind words, and I'll be back soon! (My online time is probably about to get pretty sporadic for a while ...)
