I would suggest having her tested for Alzheimer's and checking into getting a Power of Attorney to handle her affairs, either you or another sibling if possible. In this case, you would be able to speak directly to the doctor about her medical condition. But, being a daughter, you might want to just call her doctor and introduce yourself to him. If you don't know who he is, the hospital will have it on their records unless you Mom remembers.
