Re: University Blocking Communications two internal networks

Sure...

If you're doing university research, just contact the IT dept. and get whatever waiver you need to run the P2P experiment.

Otherwise, forget it. p2p is against every university "terms of use" policy - if you find a way around it, you're not going to be happy when they revoke all network access and/or suspend you for a term or two.

My guess is they are blocking every incoming port, and are actively sniffing for the typical bandwidth profiles for p2p, shutting things down as they find them.

Which university is this?

Not an american one.

if they are blocking all incoming ports how come the internet still works?

isn't that incoming?

is it possible to do something I heard of called http tunneling?
