A fresh installation

Greetings.
Due to my questionable surfing and downloading habits in the past, this machine became very slow and unresponsive. So...I DBAN'ed the machine and started all over with my legit copy of XPHome. The very first thing I did was to unplug the internet and put A/V, A/S, and a good firewall up. After getting back on the grid and updating definitions and going to WU,Getting all my drivers and software that I had backed up..I made a TI.
I have the machine in a pretty good state at this moment.

This is the only machine we have in the house and I have a login for the 4 members of my family. I have two adults and two children who use this everyday for general surfing, IM, online banking etc. Each user name is password protected.
Do you know of any security risks by having 4 individual user accounts? Do I need to log into the other accounts and run the weekly nasty scans or can I do it from my login?
The kids are 9 and 11 and they have a limited account..the wife and I are administrators.

I am just wanting to protect them from the crap out there. They know that they cannot look at porn...for I have set the ground rules...no d/l music, movies etc.

If you can offer any and all ideas..it would be much appreciated.

I can't think of anything to put here.

I think an inexpensive used computer would sure help your dilemma.

It doesn't require much of a computer to surf the Net and I have seen many $50 or less computers out there which would do the job.

Well if you setup your a/v a/s etc to do a full system scan you will be scanning all areas of the hard drive and there would be no reason to run it from each of the logins.

There really isn't any security concerns with the four separate logins and since the kids have limited accounts they should not be able to install programs.
