| reply to CCat Re: 5 Glitter Patterns For PSP
Nice stuff CC!
I decided to convert them into Photoshop patterns since I don't have PSP. So, here ya go.
Just unZip them into your Patterns folder.
(I.E, in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Patterns for example)
The same basic steps apply in PS, except it's easy to make a document with 3 layers, apply one each of the 3 patterns as a layer style or fill to each layer, whether it's a font, or fill, etc.
Most Animation programs can automatically make animation out of a layered .PSD thats imported.
Thx!

Note: I just found my answer, the ones caff re-did work. |

CCat Purrplexity Premium join:2005-12-06 Wonderland | Not sure. Look in Gimp patterns folder, if there is one, and see what kind of graphic it uses. -- Somewhere In Texas Theres A Village Missing An Idiot!

| reply to CCat NP mate

This done in PS (background + three text layers filled with the patts), saved as a .PSD, then imported the PSD into Gif Movie Gear. It took about 40 sec to make this image...great stuff!

1 edit | reply to CCat I would think that if you did it layered like mine, but in PSP, and saved as a .PSP you could open in or export into AS?
Layers = Frames sorta deal.

| That part works fine but save it as a .psd file, then just open it in AS3. This one I did in 3 colors for being able to see what I was doing.

The part I have to get straight is filling a graphic with something close to the same color. I cant tell what Im doing cause it looks the same. -- Somewhere In Texas Theres A Village Missing An Idiot!

| reply to sashwa The CaFF easier method.
1. Make new canvas
2. Add text
3. Duplicate layer x2, should have 4 layers total 1 blank and 3 with text.
4. Select layer 1, fill with glitter pattern 1
5. Select layer 2, go to layer view and select current only. This will eliminate the fill color.
6. Fill with glitter pattern 2.
7. Repeat for layer 3 and color 3.
8. Delete the blank layer.
9. "save as" whatever.psd (photoshop file)
10. Open whatever.psd in animation program make any adjustments and "save as" whatever.gif
11. Eureka, thats it. -- Somewhere In Texas Theres A Village Missing An Idiot!

2 edits | Also keep in mind that you can resize the pattern in the palette before applying it. Small graphics need a resize.

What I do is open new doc, then add text layer, then duplicate that x 2..then hide the layers i'm not workign on...so ya can see 'em. then select..(ctrl-click on layer in PS), then fill each with the right patt.
Be sure to unhide before save tho
