| Question about MTU
Hey TSI gang, just got a short question about the MTU....has everyone changed from 1452 to 1492 now? I remember reading a post from R0CKY about everyone being switched over by the end of April...
Thanks,
Jonathan |

We have a two part answer. Right now we are in transition from one type of service (Direct connections to the TSW's) from Bell to another service (AGAS) and as we switch over the tunnels we change the MTU.. If you are running on the old service, we are pushing 1452. If you are running on the new service, we are pushing 1492.
The Montreal and Toronto areas have both been upgraded at this point. Along with a few smaller areas.
If you are using Windows, you can create a dialer and enable debugging for RAS to see what we are pushing out to you!

You can set your MTU to 1480 what shall I set it at ? |

I recommend you set it to 1452 for link efficiency.

| I was actually playing around with that yesterday and Marc pointed our to me that Windows XP defaults to an MTU 1480. It's a little painful to change this as you have to play in the registry. If you are on our new system (called AGAS) which you appear to be, you should be able to push 1492. |
