It depends on whether or not you are looking for the budget trip to Disney or the all out trip to Disney. If you do the budget trip there are plenty of good hotels near Disney that are not very expensive at all ($50/night.) If you are doing the all out then I would advise that you stay at the place with the animals. Very cool for the kids. How many days are you planning on staying?

I would plan for only one park per day. I don't know if there is a park hopper that goes beyond a day or not. Most of them easily have a whole days worth of stuff to do.
