DD-WRT Linkys and cantenas work great...

I have been slurping my neighbors internet connection for 2 years now useing the same 3 routers and cantennas. They were'nt too expensive but the money has paid off hansomely in free access and Safe Anonomous movie DLing. The routers never change but I have to periodically adjust the 3 cantena positions to maintain good speeds. One antenna on an expensive router will never be as good so its just a waste of money. I finally hit the 12,000 movie file mark and almost as many TV show eposides, so clearly anonimity from **aa lawsuits is my biggest wireless benefit. Long live Wifi...

Your parents must be proud to have raised such a fine and upstanding citizen.

Real nice, so when the neighbors get busted I am sure you will explain to them that it was your fault and you will pay the fines, correct?

You sir, are a terrible neighbor and horrible person. Not only are you illegally stealing movies, but you are potentially exposing your neighbor to a lawsuit by the MPAA or RIAA which could end up costing them thousands of dollars or worst case, send them to jail.

Then to top it all off, you're bragging about it. Typical criminal behavior, commit the crime then you feel the need to brag about it.

Remember, what goes around comes around.

That's highly debatable. Your chronological age has nothing to do with whether you act like a "grown up [sic]".

Love it when anon posters "brag" about their illegal activities. Aren't they kewl?

Odd how they never come back to brag when they get nailed.....

Yes - Of course he is a terrible person, and then to top it off, he has the nerve to brag about his behaviour anonymously.

Bragging about theft of service and piracy isn't the smartest thing to do, especially on a site at least partially devoted to networking.

would be a fun time for his neighbor to see if he has his drives shared and delete all his movies. remember by accessing a persons private network without permission your files are their files.

I would be willin to bet he is late 30's, delivers pizzas, and still lives in mom and dad's basement. He's just trying to "save money" for now.

Teach a man to secure his network. And he shall do it forever, otherwise BBR will talk about him

Actually, it's all part of the larger strategy to get the **AAs to shoot themselves in the foot.

You know, 12,000 people served with "pay up or go to court" letters, and their defense is "it wasn't me, somebody was stealing my wireless. All I did was plug it in and turn it on, just like the directions said."

Surely one of those will finally make it to court, ya think?

Well, referencing my above post that should post soon, I guess averybody in my neighbohood is terrible people. But somebody invented the saying "when in rome". And as far as movie DLing, I am part of the worldwide p2p movement with hundreds of millions of members. And everyday, thousands more join. When the day comes when everybody is doing it, there will be nobody left to call us thieves. It will simply be the new way of things and industry will evolve to cater to our new whimes. The whimes of the consumer...

Well not exactly. My neighbors kids all around me kind of run wild and they did a pretty bad thing a few years back that got them all arrested and caused me to file a pretty big issurance claim. Needless to say, my neighbors don't like me any more because all their kids had to do community service. But I sleep pretty good knowing I get some extra bit of restitution that doesn't seem to bother them. At this point I highly doubt that anybody will get "caught" but if somehow snit hit the fan, I'll be in the street with the rest of them watching the raid.

I'm guessing it is unsecured network..

What you don't know is you are traceable. If you know anything about WEP cracking then you know that the cards used that work in monitor mode can see all traffic passing over the channel. I can run an analyst program (or even airodump) and see all packets coming from your network card and at what signal level, walk around with notebook and track it right down to your door.

You think you are getting away but if someone was devoted to take legal action they can trace you very easily, as long as your card is broadcasting packets, it can be traced.
