Hello Gooiool,
There is nothing wrong with the transparency. In every case where I have helped someone with this, it has been usability. One important factor (if attempting to view the transparency within Paint Shop Pro) is to make sure you have View palette transparency enable. This is a program option found under Image | Palette | View Palette Transparency. Once enabled, if you open a .gif with transparency, you will see (or rather not see) the transparent defined pixels. If you still have trouble, then it would have to be related to the procedure.

With PSP you have to do this every time you open a gif.Image | Palette | View Palette Transparency. Or shift + V

I posted this because in most photo editors you do not have to do anything to view transparency in an opened Gif. image. For some reason PSP requires you to add a few steps to view it in transparency.

I am curious, just as an experiment, if you set all preferences to prompt then change the ones you prefer not to be prompted on later, but if that will hold the transparency. The reasoning is, I have had that problem in the past with my PSP9. I no longer have the problem and am not sure what I did to "fix" it, sorry. I also have a workspace saved as "mine" which may or may not have helped.
