| FiOS Installation Questions
Since I don't want to be disappointed on installation day, I'd like to know what can be done for my house. I now have Comcast TV and Internet. Coax drop at right side of house. Splitter on outside (no power available there on inside); one leg up the side of house (aluminum siding)to 2nd floor modem and router, and the other leg into the house and a three way splitter in finished basement ceiling and then to TVs. VZ phone NID at garage on left side of house, where power is available. So, if they come in with fiber to ONT and BBU in garage (only power option), I'm sure they can run coax to the current TV splitter to get TV service. But, can they also run a coax to somehow splice into the current modem/router coax on the outside of the house? If not, any other options? Since I understand that they don't fish walls, what else could they do? Note that the house and construction are such that the wireless router needs to be where it is now. |

| IT sounds like the Ont and BBU will be placed where the current NID is and power is available. as for runnning the coax. make sure that the current splitter is accesable so that it can be replaced and the ends of the cable replaced also.(if need be). As for running the coax to the current splitter i am sure the tech will try to. Without actually seeing the house and how the coax is run, it is hard to make assumptions. |
