| [Connectivity] Extremely Slow Upload Speed in Ft.Lauderdale Area
In last 2 days I have very poor upload speed, connected to Atlanta Server the upload tests showed 30kbp or below! The download tests were between 8 and 12mb. Using New York City server, the download fell to 6, and upload was 40.
Doing a 100 iteration ping on both IP addresses, I have 10% packet loss.
During conversation with Comcast tech support, I lost connection. He also saw that happened. At the end, an appointment is set up for coming Friday afternoon 6/01.
Anyone in the nearby areas has experienced such?
I was out of town for the whole month of April, and read some of you actually received the Powerboost in Sunrise and Ft. Lauderdale as well. In my area, the speed actually got much worse than what I had in March |

| I looked up the snapshot of my modem, and notice the downstream power level has dropped to 5 dBmV - it was in the 7 to 10 in the past. This could be my problem.
Last July I had problems so bad it took 4 truck rolls and finally a Supervisor himself called and came - they all know it was related to line issues but for whatever reasons they were unable to have it fixed until finally the Supervisor got involved. They later sent a senior tech to follow up and further verified something was not reading right and had nothing to do with the set-up indoor or at the Condo box. After a very frustrating month and a half, they fixed it and the Supervisor initiated a one-month credit refund to my bill.
I sure hope this time is not a repeat of last year's nightmare - we are not even in our usual storm/hurricane season yet and there is no rain (we need it badly though). |

| reply to nho My speeds have been fine here in Sunrise, although I seem to no longer have upload Powerboost.
There was an outage here a few nights ago for a couple of hours, not sure if that's when I lost it. Bring back my U-boost!

| Hi,
Can you tell me where to check the speed like yours?
I used the Speakeasy site, which was the site used by those Comcast techs when they came for their service calls.
My latest reading using the Atlanta server shows 17ish and only 91kbp download!
A Comcast guy just called to verify whether I still needed the service. Of course I need it. |

| reply to nho The upload speed improved to 200 kbp range this morning. I am sure when the tech comes this afternoon he would say there is not an issue! Happens so many times that is frustrating, that soon after the tech visit, it would revert to the slow-crawl.
There is definitely no Powerboost in where I am - at Tamarac/Lauderhill area. |
