ReignseXorcistPremium join:2003-05-05 Toronto, ON kudos:1 | [Vista] Start Up Issue ... My Hp Quick Launch application that starts up when the computer is loaded it seems to exucute a registry file....
Now everytime Vista pops up this thing about User Control ect ect and makes me hit OK for it to continue on starting the program.. ON EVERY START UP.... I can disable the Quick launch but I need it for speical key's on my laptop.... So is there a way I can disable windows from giving me this message?
I know if I disable User ACcount control in the control panel it will fix this issue but I still want it's protection..... There must be a way to let a certin app let it do its thing.. |
|
 | i would see if HP has an updated version of that application that will not bring the UAC into effect.
you could try to look in windows defender in the start-up options but that never really got me anywhere. |

I have UAC turned off on my system. I think it is over rated, and annoying. |

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
If so, please also advise what permissions exist on the entry. -- Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot. |

EDIT: I am in no way telling you to turn off UAC. Do so at your own risk!! |

| When I ask what permissions are on the subkey, I mean:
Permissions to System Permissions to Administrator Permissions to Creator Owner Permissions to Users
I'm hoping someone with a similar setup can compare your entries to one that doesn't have this problem. -- Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot. |

ReignseXorcistPremium join:2003-05-05 Toronto, ON kudos:1 | How do you check that on the Registry? |

ReignseXorcistPremium join:2003-05-05 Toronto, ON kudos:1 | Yup.. just checked they are all on Allow.. |
