Tulsa, OK | I dont see how unlocking phones will help skype So you unlock a phone, if it is a GSM phone you still have to use a GSM carrier. Not much use to Skype.
The Copyright Office already demands cell phone unlocking if a person is not under contract. Seems like a moot point. |

Eg. most carriers charge between $0.10 and $0.20 / minute on calling to Canada.
Landline and VoIP typically have unlimited free calling to Canada

Some "locked" phones prevent you from installing third party software (e.g. the Skype client) on them.
