It's sad that the capital city of Ohio, Columbus, has to wait till Dec 24. And it will be funny to watch all the at&t tech's trying to access the VRADS have we have had a big snow and the cabnet doors wont open, should be very enertaining. |

What does being the capital have to do with anything ?? it doesn't; chances are AT&T is going by size of the cities; Cleveland is easily the largest city in Ohio, and is rapidly expanding towards the Akron area; it only makes sense (from a profit standpoint) to deploy here first.
It'll be interesting to see how well this system turns out...too bad it probably won't be deployed in rural areas....of course, that doesn't really matter as I'm in Embarq territory. |

| Actually, going by population size, Columbus is the largest city with 730,657 people. Cleveland has 452,208. Note, both of these figures are for the population within the city limits, not including the suburbs.
If you include the suburbs, then the Northeast Ohio area is the most populated area of Ohio. |

| correct.
but, see, most often, when someone mentions "the city of XXXXX has Y many people" they usually mean the city and the suburbs.
I just wonder how much longer it'll be before Akron and Cleveland completely collide to form a huge megalopolis... |

When NJ passed a state wide franchise law one of the conditions was all county seats in Verizon's tariff territory must be wired with FiOS. |

And I would hope the district reps don't put their 2nd "home", i.e. Columbus, first. Would they ?? Probably.... The franchise law is passed by the house and senate and they represent the rest of the state too, not just Columbus. |

| i would hope it would be a fair level decision as well. of course thats what local franchises were suposed to be when the started, now they are a revenue source for communities facing hard times, and a way to get projects the community cant afford to do, be paid for by the provider in exchange for them signing off on the franchise. |

CATV franchise are no longer relevant. CATV, telephone and internet are now carried over the same wire. IPTV can and is provided by anyone why should only the companies that takes all the risk by providing the network have to pay? |
