Re: Is rogers throtling games now?

No problems with games here either, even with two or more online games being played over the connection at one time.

Same with mordin. I've never had any problems with online gaming. I love being about to download a 1GB game demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace in 10 minutes.

A little while ago I was beta testing the new LotR MMORPG. I was playing anywhere from 4 to 8 hrs a night and during the 3 months of testing I never had a connection problem. I have yet to see any issues with either my PC or Xbox 360 gaming.

There is no concrete evidence that Rogers is throttling UDP traffic. Were this the case, the forum would be FLOODED with complaints.

Yes, rogers is throttling UDP traffic. Now only TCP is left and when that goes everyone is doomed! Better switch back to using NetBEUI for everything before it's too late.

I've actually been experiencing similar issues with WarRock, an MMOFPS. Recently, my ping to their main servers has gone up dramatically. I guess we have to realize that sometimes these issues can be caused as a result of higher server loads, and more players. I guess until we have more people complaining about this, or concrete proof, it's just hearsay, and we just have to suffer through it as the ones who speak up.

@rogers.com

Not sure about most games, but ever since rogers began throttling I've been dropped/disconnected from 80% of the war craft 3 online games I've played since than. I've heard from other rogers subscribers that they're having similar issues.

And before you ask, i have no firewalls, windows firewall is disabled, and there are no hardware firewalls between me and my modem.
