I laugh every time I see When there is ATT/Yahoo DSL Ad Touting their 786k! speeds. Ours DSL are Really that Fast. By Comparison, That make my Net Access 16000k/1500k with power boost from Comcast Like I am Surfing on the Information Super Autobahn.

These lower speed plans are for the person that doesn't want dial-up, but doesn't want to pay $50+/month. It's not about AT&T's network ability, it's about offering a competitively priced product.
