| Well Paris Hilton could have killed many people for what she did. She got 3 days in a cell and a month of house arrest.

Re: 40 years for looking at porn Paris only got 3.5 days only because people think she's hot, & female. If she was ugly then she would probably still be serving the 40 days. |

They saw a little bit of porn - most likely unintentionally. Get over it.
And they're seventh graders. It's nothing they won't be downloading themselves within a year.
I think she has a very good chance, seeing as how I'd bet at least some of the jury members have had this same problem. |

It's true that celeberties do get a break here, but in Europe they might not have been penalized at all (because of their status). Other than that - we have a very "punishing" system. In Europe, convicts get lesser penalties. -- Cogito ergo sum |

I'm not sure showing breasts to someone who thinks of them as a food source is doing anything. If the kids had hit puberty that would be something else. |

 | reply to Kindguy98 I do not know where you get that info, in europen some country when you are giving 30 years you will do 30 years no parole is not the same case in usa. |

Re: 40 years for looking at porn Actually most in Paris Hilton's situation gets 5 days unless you have an accident. Driving offenses in California is really the problem. There aren't many penalties. Kindguy98Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate join:2000-12-01 Brooklyn, NY | reply to donjuan2002 yes, but much fewer people will get 30 years - it's not like here - where we have these penalties left and right. Why do we have parole and other defense mechamisms - b/c we need them to mitigate the harshness of the results.
