Sure glad my VZ DSL hasn't implemented all this CableCo nonsense.... Yet.
Cable Speed is a good thing. 
But what good is it if it's Capped, shaped, throttled, ETC.

If TW's VoIP service rides IP outside of their network's border then I agree with you that it should be shaped as well. If their VoIP service hits a switch and is no longer IP before leaving the network's border, then I see your question/statement as irrelevant. |

| I don't like what they are doing with VOIP one little bit, but you can even maintain a 711 connection at their crippled speed. You just need QOS. As they start pushing this, more carriers will start offering G729 codecs as well which should help. |

Nowhere did they say they're assigning a lower priority to VOIP traffic. Packet shaping doesn't automatically mean that everything gets slower, it's not that much different from the concepts of QOS. |
