 | What's the fuss? Why can't anyone ever understand that residential broadband has limitations that SLA'ed circuits don't? Folks complain that their $50 / month best effort cable connection doesn't allow them to max it out 24/7, and I just don't get it. The common complaint is that they pay $xxx for xxx Mbps, and if they aren't able to achieve that speed constantly "the greedy telco should upgrade their network."
Unfortunately bandwidth hogs are the minority, and the only true way to send any kind of message to your ISP is to cancel your service... then start praying for the day when inexpensive FTTH is brought to your area.
One more time, for those with difficulty comprehending: cheap broadband connection = limited, expensive dedicated circuits = warez / porn / ISO's full blast 24/7. You get what you pay for.
